EA Batu Caves + Camp 5 (Pre Chinese New Year) Rock Climbing Expedition
28th Jan (Friday Night) – 30th Jan (Sunday) 2011
Batu Caves is a limestone hill, which has a series of caves and cave temples, located in Gombak district, 13 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu or Batu River, which flows past the hill. Batu Caves is also the name of the nearby village.
Though popular for its 272 ste...ps up to the Temple Cave, we will be going to the road less traveled. To the Damai, Nyamuk, White Wall, Volleyball Court, Red Rocks, Nanyang, Comic Wall and Roadshow rock climbing walls.
Camp 5 is Asia's largest indoor climbing gym and located on top of 1Utama Shopping Mall, one of the largest shopping Complexes in Malaysia. The gym features state-of-the-art climbing walls in a breathtaking 24m high glass building with a panoramic city view and fully air conditioned environment. It offers a large sector for beginners with 1600 square meters of roped climbing (8m-14m), a section with autobelays, a massive lead wall ranging from 14m – 16m, 2 freestanding boulder blocks and a huge boulder cave covering 300 square meters with a high ball section that can be topped out.
